Lisa Commane joined Ofwat in 2017 as Senior Director - she currently leads Ofwat’s corporate services and is a member of Ofwat’s Senior Leadership Team. Prior to joining the water sector regulator she was Director of Customer Services and Transformation at Coventry City Council.  She led in a number of senior roles at the Council over 11 years ranging from the development and delivery of complex infrastructure projects through to corporate transformation programmes to deliver organisational, digital change and improved outcomes for citizens

Commenting on her appointment, Lisa Commane said:

‘I’m very much looking forward to joining Ofwat’s Board and helping to improve life through water. Water companies have an important leadership role to play in their communities by providing excellent services and protecting our environment both now and in future – I look forward to making a difference here.’

Jonson Cox, Ofwat Chair of Ofwat, said Lisa Commane had made a major contribution to transforming Ofwat’s corporate services during her time with Ofwat and would contribute to a strong and effective Board

Her appointment comes as David Black steps into leading Ofwat forward over the coming year as Interim Chief Executive.

Appointments of executive directors to the board of Ofwat are made by the Secretary of State for Defra on the recommendation of the chair of Ofwat, and following consultation with Welsh Ministers.
