Biodiversity and Eco Services
SES Water has achieved The Wildlife Trusts’ Biodiversity Benchmark for enhancing and protecting the biodiversity at its Elmer Water Treatment Works in Leatherhead – with two more sites expected to follow by 2025.
Projects which will see 800,000 trees planted across England have been awarded a share of almost £40 million from the Green Recovery Challenge Fund.
Yorkshire Water has planted more than 200,000 trees in the first phase of its ambitious pledge to plant one million trees across its land by 2028.
Natural England, the Environment Agency and the Forestry Commission have mounted a joint investigation into extensive damage reported on a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) area of the River Lugg in Herefordshire.
The Environment Agency is warning that the invasive non- native species quagga mussels has been found in the River Trent and Rutland Water.
