Regulation and Legislation
Ofwat has warned that customers will pay more on their water bills and investors could scoop up the extra as higher dividend pay-outs if the Competition and Markets Authority confirms its position on the price review appeals by four water companies.
Ofwat has revoked water and sewerage licences for two more retailers operating in the retail business sector.
Ofwat says that water companies which make better use of bioresources activities – transporting, treating, recycling and disposing wastewater sludge to develop even more low carbon energy, could provide real benefits to customers, society and the environment.
Rt Hon Philip Dunne, MP for Ludlow, has today published his Private Member’s Bill designed to tackle river pollution from untreated sewage and improve water quality.
The Water Industry Commission for Scotland (WICS) has published its draft determination on the prices Scottish Water will be allowed to charge customers for its upcoming 2021-27 investment programme.
