Regulation and Legislation
A new report by Citizens Advice published yesterday which criticises utilities regulators for presiding over sustained overcharging to customers, says that while Ofwat has gone some way to correct the mistakes of the past, more work needs to be done.
Water regulator Ofwat has published an open letter challenging incumbent water companies operating wholly or mainly in England to do more to support the development of competititive markets.
The government has confirmed a ban on plastic straws, drinks stirrers and plastic stemmed cotton buds in England, following overwhelming public support for the move.
The Government has published the first progress report reviewing its 25 Year Environment Plan for the period January 2018 to March 2019.
Ofwat has launched a new consultation on its proposal to make it compulsory for all water companies to meet new objectives about board leadership, transparency and governance, including the need to establish a purpose, strategy and set of values.
