Regulation and Legislation
More than 600 people attended a virtual public meeting staged by Ofwat yesterday to get the views of customers and stakeholders on the draft decisions on business plans of all water companies in England for 2025 to 2030.
MOSL’S independent Strategic Panel, the most senior industry group in the business retail water market, has published its draft Roadmap to a Flourishing Market for consultation - the roadmap sets out what needs to change to improve how the market functions and deliver greater benefits for customers.
Ivo Textiles have been ordered to pay over £71,000 for disposing of materials, heavy metals and ammonia down the sewers over the past four years in West London.
King Charles' speech to Parliament this morning says the new Government will introduce a Water (Special Measures) Bill which includes strengthening Ofwat’s powers to ban the payment of bonuses if environmental standards are not met and strengthening regulation to ensure water bosses face personal criminal liability for lawbreaking.
Severn Trent and United Utilities have both issued formal responses to Ofwat’s announcement yesterday of the launch of enforcement cases against four more companies in its ongoing wastewater treatment investigation.
