Technology and Innovation
Severn Trent Water are looking to find suppliers which have the technical capabilities to help improve its ability to monitor structural health of its wastewater assets to identify and address potential problems within its wastewater network.
A new technology recently patented by Amey Consulting in the UK is currently undergoing trials with the Water Research Council to tackle the problem of sewer flooding.
Despite the water companies’ AMP7 business plans showing that the blossoming bioresources market is set for significant growth over the next five years, a number of practical and operational obstacles remain, according to long-established pump and mixer manufacturer, Landia.
Severn Trent is trialling the use of fibre optic cables inside its pipes, in a bid to reduce the number of leaks and bursts across its network.
CCm Technologies in partnership with Severn Trent has been awarded approximately £1 million government funding to explore new sustainable ways to recycle wastewater and convert it into a commercial product.
