Water industry regulator has announced the allocation of customers of failed water retailer Tor Water to four other companies on an interim supply basis.
The previous licensee ceased to provide water retail services and sewerage retail services to its business customers on 19 February 2020 when its water supply and sewerage licences were revoked. The allocation has been made on the basis of the Interim Duty Supply Points which were registered to Tor Water in the Wessex Water and Bristol Water Areas as at the date of the revocation of the licences.
The following four water retailers are eligible to to receive the Interim Duty Supply Points and replace Tor Water as the interim licensees:
- Smarta Water Limited
- Sutton and East Surrey Water Services Limited
- Water 2 Business Limited
- Yu Water Limited
Following Ofwat’s request to market operator MOSL to allocate the Supply Points on 21 February 2020 by implementing the Interim Supplier Allocation Process, MOSL has adjusted the number of Supply Points allocated to each supplier to ensure that as equal a distribution as possible has been achieved between them.
The Interim Allocations are only made to to other licensees on the basis that the owner or occupier of the premises has not already notified the sewerage undertaker in whose area the premises are that they have made arrangements for the continuation of the provision of sewerage services to the premises or that they intend that provision of the services should cease.
