The Environment Agency has gone out to tender with a contract for the supply of multi-parameter water quality instruments worth an estimated £4.5 million.

The Agency is looking to procurement the best evidence gathering instruments available - and future equipment must require substantially less maintenance than previously required, have a longer working life and help create cost savings in future years.

The contract covers the supply of both handheld meters and units capable of being telemetry compatible and is being tendered in the following two Lots:

  • Lot 1 multi-parameter hand held water quality instruments
  • Lot 2 multi-parameter deployable water quality instruments

One supplier will be appointed for each lot and will be the sole supplier for that lot. The same supplier could be appointed to both lots.

Initial contract term is two years with two further 12 month extension options.
