The water company went out to tender for instrumentation contractors who could provide instrumentation and instrumentation systems - the instrument selection will be based on the utility’s Approved List of Instruments.
Scope of works covered under the contract for all of Scottish Water’s water and wastewater treatment and distribution control and monitoring instrumentation includes:
- modular assembly and instrument backboard design
- design guidance
- instrument selection
- guidance on instrument selection
- factory assembly
- installation
- commissioning
- testing
- calibration
- maintenance
- repair
- training
- servicing
Existing Scottish Water backboard designs for a selection of instruments which will continue to be the basis of the supply.
Dunfermline- based firm Process Plus Ltd, Cumbernauld-based ID Systems UK Ltd and Ross-Shire Engineering Ltd have all been awarded contracts. Initial contract term is 7 years with 4 further annual extension options.
