Southern Water has gone out to tender with a contract for energy management services worth an estimated £800,000.

Scope of services tobe provided under the energy consultancy services contract include:

  • advice on strategic options for the procurement of electricity and gas to best suit Southern Waters needs and risk appetite,
  • operating an agreed hedging strategy on Southern Waters behalf
  • advice regarding new technologies and products associated with asset optimisation and flexibility.
  • provision of risk management services and daily market updates.
  • review of flexible procurement adjustments performed by energy supplier;
  • ad-hoc alerts when market conditions dictate;
  • triad warning service

The contract period will run in increments of 1 or 2 years up to a maximum of 4 years in total.
