United Utilities is interested in hearing from suppliers who are able to provide customer water meter reading services.

The water company is currently undertaking a market research/pre-market engagement exercise. Interested suppliers will be required to read all visually read water meters, as well as all standard AMR meters serving all customers within the boundaries of the United Utilities operating area where the company operates a 100 % read policy.

The requirements are supported by a suite of service levels. In addition to cyclic reading, suppliers must be able to provide a non-cyclic data collection service (data collection request, DCR) for household customers in the company’s geographic area.

Supplier will also be required to provide an IT system to support the meter reading activity.

United Utilities is inviting suppliers with relevant experience to contact them by 23rd August 2019 – information they will need to provide includes two case studies which show comparable compliance to its requirements and demonstrate relevant experience.
