Extreme Weather
Welsh Water is continuing to deal with the impact of severe weather and flooding over the last few days, particularly in the Monmouth area.
The Environment Agency is warning of significant continuing flood risk with further heavy rain expected to fall on areas already affected by the wet weather later this week.
The Government has said flood-hit households can apply for up to £500 and 100% council tax relief as part of a package of support for storm-hit areas announced yesterday following Storms Dennis and Ciara.
Natural Resources Wales (NRW) has completed its assessment of options to manage flood risk in Dinas Powys, South Wales, and is now seeking the community’s views.
The widespread flooding events in the UK within the space of less than two weeks as a result of the impacts of Storms Ciara and Dennis have seen the Government coming in for criticism from a number of quarters.
