Ofwat has made three senior director appointments to strengthen its senior leadership team.
David Black, Chief Executive of water sector regulator Ofwat, has described Thames Water as a company with “deep-rooted problems of persistent poor performance and too much debt.”
Ofwat has confirmed that the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has appointed Chris Walters as an executive member to Ofwat’s Board, following consultation with the Welsh Government.
Ofwat has allowed Portsmouth Water to maintain one Issuer Credit Rating with a single credit ratings agency rather than two – only 10 days after the water company requested the change and less than three months after the licence requirement for two came into effect.
UK consumers have saved an estimated £8 billion over the last 3 years from action taken by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to protect competition and stamp out unfair practices.
