The House of Commons Environment Food and Rural Affairs Committee has said it is content with the appointment of Iain Coucher as the new Chair of the water regulator, Ofwat – the body responsible for the economic regulation of the water and sewage industry in England and Wales.
Ofwat has today announced the appointment of David Black as its permanent Chief Executive, following an open recruitment process.
A new Challenge Co-ordination Group has been established by CCW, with Caroline Warner appointed as its independent chair.
The prospective new Chair of the government’s independent water regulator, OFWAT, Iain Coucher, will appear before the House of Commons’ Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee next week for a pre-appointment hearing at 09.45am on Wednesday 20 April 2022.
The Health and Care Bill currently going through Parliament includes changes to the water fluoridation legislation in England – the Government is seeking views on the future water fluoridation consultation process.
